Mobile Home Protector Roof Q&A
How long does a roof take to install?
Most of the roofs take one day and can be installed year round.
Will the screws rust?
No. Our roof pan screws are all aluminum. Our support angle screws are steel with a rust-resistant coating.
What do you do about vents?
Our 2" and 6" vents are all aluminum. Your water heater and furnace vents are extended or replaced during installation.
Will it eliminate leaks?
Our 1-1/2" high seams are water tight, eliminating leaks once and for all.
How thick is the material?
Support angles is made out of .050. Roof pan material is made out of .024 and .032. Different thicknesses are used for different applications. In many cases the Protector Roof uses 50% more aluminum than any other roof.
What type of warranty is there?
We offer two-year warranty on workmanship and lifetime on material. Many of the aluminum products installed in the 1940's and 1950's are still in use today.
How do I get an estimate?
Call us and tell us the size of your home. In most cases we can give you a rough idea over the phone, or arrange for a free in-home estimate.
What colors are available?
What color would you like? Most of our roofs are white with accented trim colors. But designer-colored roofs are also available.
How much of an overhang is there?
Generally we provide a 6" overhang, but we can give you up to a 16" overhang.
Is the roof arched or peaked?
We can build your roof any way you want. Either way, the Protector Roof System provides a maintenance-free roof.
Will it make my home quieter?
Our roof takes the rumble out of your old roof, and the added insulation provides a sound-deadening value.
Does it require maintenance?
Our all-aluminum roof never needs coated, and never requires regular maintenance
Why the foil-faced insulation?
The insulation makes your home warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. The foil on the insulation keeps it from breaking up during installation.

Gutter
Q&A
Will the gutters back up with ice and cause my roof to leak?
No. Gutters don't cause ice problems. It is usually caused by poor ventilation in the attic and/or no insulation in the ceiling. If these areas are corrected you will have little ice on your roof.
Will they fall off in the winter?
They will not fall off if they are installed properly. You need a good quality, heavy-guage gutter installed with good quality hangers, spaced adequately for the job. After all this, the installers have to make sure they're fastening the gutters to a good solid material. When all these guidelines are followed, you can be certain of a long lasting, maintenance-free gutter system.
Will it cost more to have the gutters installed than if I hang them myself?
Yes. It would be cheaper if you bought the gutter at a lumberyard and installed it yourself, but the difference is not enough to make it worth your while. If you have the gutter installed by us, you only pay for what you need. It's installed by trained installers, and there are no seams to drip.
Do you give free estimates?
Yes!
What color options are available?
We stock the most popular colors. We recommend matching the color of gutter with the fascia and the color of the downspout with the siding.
How is the gutter attached to the home?
There are two ways. All newer homes have a flat fascia board that the gutter hooks to with a hidden hanger. Some of the older homes have a slanted fascia. These gutters have to be hung from the roof with roof straps.
Do the screws rust?
No--no way--never! We use stainless steel screws that will never rust.
What can be done about the leaves that plug up the gutters?
We can install an aluminum leaf guard that lets the water in but keeps the leaves out.
What can I do about the water from my roof that runs behind my gutter?
The top of the gutter can be sealed with silicone caulk, or you can insert a thin strip of aluminum under the drip edge and over the gutter.
